Enjoy BAnQ. Free English Online Resources to Improve your Language level

When French-speaking people are far away from big urban centers, there is often a lack of access to documentation in English. Fortunately, to improve their language level, every Quebecer can take advantage of the free online services of our Bibliothèque Nationale.

It isn’t a secret. Reading a variety of books and periodicals of English content increases your knowledge and your vocabulary. That's why Bibliothèque et Archives nationale du Québec offers access to ebooks, audiobooks, newspapers, and magazines. Moreover, the students have the opportunity to do documentary researches, as well as take English lessons from distance. If it is not already done, join BAnQ by visiting the subscription page.

Which is right for you and your family?

Explore OverDrive platform for its wide range of documents. In fact, this is good for all ages. You need to click on "Collection" in the header for access to kids' or teens' resources. It's the same procedure to select ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines.

As for the PressReader database, it allows you to consult a multitude of newspapers and magazines. On the home page, you can choose the English language through the button located under the first line of periodicals, precisely on the right side.

Finally, language-learning databases Mango and Rosetta Stone are also available for free, but you have to create a personal account to monitor your progress.
